Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

After a horrible summer at the Dursley’s, Harry Potter is excited to go back to Hogwarts, a school for wizards.

But a strange creature named Dobby pays Harry a visit, saying to him that bad things are going to happen to him at Hogwarts and that he should just stay home.

After being rescued from his home by his friend Ron, he lives at the Weasley’s until the pair finally end up at Hogwarts after an exhausting car ride.

A new year at Hogwarts arises new problems. People have been turned mysteriously into stone. Who could be the suspect?

This book was much more better than the first book. Right from the start of the book, things don’t go as smoothly as it did from the first and that keeps the reader reading.

But like the first book, I got distracted from the main plot point. There were these parts in the book that isn’t exactly unnecessary but just…meh. An example was the part when Harry “lost” his bones in his arms. But you get to see some character development.

I never expected what the ending was going to be and I was surprised. I personally though it was Gilderoy Lockheart because he seemed so stuck up and really I just wanted another reason to hate him.

My favorite character was Ginny because she is so similar to me. She seems all innocent but in her mind she has thoughts of her own. Not that I’m all depressed and gullible (haha maybe no) but we’re both quiet and people don’t know what is going on in our minds.

I loved this book! 4.5 out of 5
