Divergent by Veronica Roth

Beatrice Prior has been with the Abnegation faction -the selfless faction- all her life. But now she is sixteen and Beatrice must choose: to stay with her faction, or to move to another faction that will define who she is.

When Beatrice takes the aptitude test, she finds out she’s not ordinary. She is divergent, one who can belong in several factions.

Beatrice struggles to make a choice and when she does, it changes her dull life to something new.

I loved this book. Most books I’ve read set in the future are sort of like the Hunger Games. Everyone is struggling about hunger or war but Divergent is unique. The type of ‘government’ seemed to be peaceful.

I’m not very sure about Tris and Four being together. Am I the only one who finds it strange that an instructor and a student falls in love? …Well at least they’re in the same age group.

The characters were awesome. Tris wasn’t a mary sue. She wasn’t a great fighter at first; she got beat up. This gives it a more realistic feel to it. A person who comes from Abnegation really shouldn’t be a great fighter.

Overall, thumbs up to Veronica Roth.

Divergent movie suppose to come out in 2014. Here is official casting video
